SIGN UP FOR FREE URBAN WOOD NETWORK WEBINAR

The Urban Wood Network (UWN) will present a free informational webinar at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17. If you have an interest in help advance the urban wood movement, then sign up now to attend. This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the UWN, its mission and its aspirations. In addition, you’ll be able to ask questions and provide much welcomed input.
The Urban Wood Network was launched last summer by representatives of Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin. Membership is not only open to entities and individuals in those states, but to others east of the Rocky Mountains.

Speaking of webinars, the Wood Education and Resource Center will present its Spring Urban Wood webcast on Tuesday, April 3. Highlights include updates of the Urban Wood Network and work to develop urban wood certification standards.

The agenda for the biannual Urban Wood Webcast has been set. The webcast, which will feature updates of urban wood activities in the Midwest and other parts of the country, is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, April 11.

The webcast is presented by the Wood Education and Resource Center, a service of the Northeastern Area State & Private Forestry of the U.S. Forest Service.

On Demand Webcast Highlights Urban Wood Activities in Six States

The biannual program features presentations by urban wood representatives of urban wood networks in Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. In addition to providing an update of urban wood activities in Illinois, Rich Christianson, communications director of the Illinois Wood Utilization Team, presented highlights of the successful urban wood seminar held at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta.

Eric Muecke of the North Carolina Urban Forest Council, provided an overview of the newly launched Southeast Urban Wood Exchange.

IWF Urban Wood Seminar Report Slated for Oct. 11 Webcast

iwf_22298-26-16Highlights from the urban wood seminar at the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) will be presented during an Oct. 11 webcast by the Wood Education and Resource Center.

Rich Christianson, communications director of the Illinois Wood Utilization Team, will lead the discussion about “Urban Wood Utilization: Making Products & Profits from Landscape Trees.” The seminar, organized by the Full Circle Urban Forest Network, was held Aug. 26 at IWF 2016, North America’s largest woodworking event.

The IWF presentation is one of nine updates on the docket for WERC’s Fall Urban Wood Utilization Webcast, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, Oct. 11.
